samdean OTP minibang DRAFT SEND! and other news! :)

So I just send in my draft for the samdean OTP minibang! :) YAY!!!!

AAAAAAND now the excruciating wait for an artist to pick my story begins; seriously this is like at gym when you're the fat/clumsy kid noooo one pics to play a team sport with. Okay that's a bad analogy, because I was never that kid, but in other ways, I know how it feels. *sigh*
AAAAAAND as it was with my j2-spn-bigbang, I wrote GEN again, which no one reads (or so it feels like to me) and no one writes (you really have to look for it with a flashlight) and once again I feel like the odd one out. Sex sells, I KNOW, but I just can't. I mean not that I can't write sex, because well obviously LOL, but I just can't write one if my brain wants to go in the other direction - general plotlines! Sooooo once again all the NC-17 rated stories are gonna get picked up ASAP and we PG-13/GEN losers are gonna be waiting in line watching all the cool kids walk away with their dates. *sigh* but if anything, I'm an optimist, glass always half full and all that and I WILL NOT BE BROUGHT TO MY KNEES! WORST CASE; I'll just do the damn art by myself. Again. And now that I finally send the draft, my brain is like: you totally should've written in that owl, you so should and have it always sit on Sam's shoulder and have it hoot in all the wrong places/inapproprite times, you so should, have it be all like hoot, hoot, hoot and Sam be all like shut up, already and the owl be like hoot, and Sam be like I'll eat you for dinner and the owl be like hoot. I don't even know anymore * shakes head*

I think 'm PMSing, this post feels like a PMSing kinda post! *giggle-snorts*

So I am waiting for the 19th when artist will be able to make their choices known and I AM CONFIDENT THAT I WILL GET AN AMAZING ARTIST!!!! *fingers crossed* WOOOHOOOO!!! :) :) And MAYBE because this bigbang is allllll about Sam and Dean, there will be lots of GEN stories? Right? Because c'mon, some case!fic stories, yes? Right? Say yes! :) :) Maybe it's just J2 that no one writes GEN about, right!? Yes!? Say yes! :) :)



BUT IN HAPPIER NEWS: I finally will be able to post that J2 fic that has like 37 warnings/tags, so that's something, right?! I counted them, I had to do it three times, because *scratches head* I kinda got lost somewhere around 26, LOL and had to re-count, but yeah ... but I had to write them all down, because I don't want to trigger anyone with anything and I certainly don't wanna deal with comments that would scream at me why I didn't warn for a certain thing. I'm so not in the mood.

Ah, I didn't know you were such a lover of gen! I have the same issue with my fics not finding readership, because I've started to favor gen and even my slash isn't very porn-y. And I have the same weird/fat-kid-getting-picked-last-in-gym ear about challenges with artist claiming (and I actually WAS that kid, sooo)... But it's awesome that you have the power to illustrate your own if you want! I definitely don't. But in any case, I usually skip reading things like the SamDean OTP challenge because I am the loneliest person in SPN fandom in that I can't read wincest. :-D So your fic might be the only one I CAN read! I look forward to it. And I bet you will get just the right artist, and hope you will have a great experience!

Also, I like owls. I agree that Sam needs an owl. But there's always the next fic! <3

LOL about losing count of the tags... I was recently talking to someone about how to browse for porn, given that I'm a little more squeamish than most, and I told her how I discovered that if I don't know what a tag means, I DEFINITELY DON'T NEED TO READ ABOUT IT. ;-)

I ADORE GEN!!!! OH MAN!!! GEN IS MY AIR!!!! :) lol :) be it J2 gen or Sam and Dean, I LOVE IT AND I NEED IT!!! I mean yeah I like writing slash too, sex is always good, eh, but writing GEN feels like you're actually writing a story, and not just writing something to get to the sex! *sigh* because sometimes when I read a story, it just feels like that; like the sex part is the center and everything else is just burned dough. LOL :)
and it really is soooooo hard to get readers for gen fics, you're right, and idk why that is ... I have no explanation for that, but I won't stop writing gen, I physically and emotionally can't :)
and waiting for an artist to pick your fic is ... yeah fat kid in gym. Just like that.

my fic is fantasy!AU, so the story doesn't actually happen in the SPN world, but the boys are the focus so ... if you'll have any time at all to read it, I'd love to hear your thoughts :) but if not, that's okay too, because I know AU's aren't everyone's cup of tea! :)

I love owls too ... maybe I'll squeeze one in :) I just have this picture in my head, of Sam with an owl on his shoulder, with those huuuge eyes going hoot. LOL :)

ahhahahahha, oh boy, you wouldn't believe what all kinda tags/warnings I've read! because I'm a really curious person, if I don't know what a certain tag means, I read the story or google the word. And by doing that, my horizon'd expanded like 1000%. I would never discover steampunk, if I wouldn't have clicked on a story that had that as a tag. I was like steampunk?! wtf!? but then WHOA and now I love writing things in steampunk! Sometimes you just have to jump in. you can always stop reading if it REALLY makes you go yuck! :)

I like reading GEN as I read fics because of the story (if I don't read it because of the porn). When I'm not in da mood, I even skip the porn because ANOTHER rimming? *yawns*

Also looking forward to your J2. So many tags... O.O I tagged my big bang with everything I could, and now I think I disappoint the readers because there's less dirty porn than they hoped for. :)

me too! I read for the story/plot, I want to get lost in the story, when I'm in the mood I read the sex, but when I'm not OR the story would actually be better without the sex part, then I skip it. There were so many stories where I skipped the sex part, OR that I really wanted to leave a comment saying: this was awesome and all, but this story would work sooo much better if it was gen!
but I'd never comment like that, because ... idk ... 'm not that kinda person! :)
and yeah the sex can get a bit boring ... another rimming *yawns* another fingering? *yawns* another whipping? *yawns*

I'm totally weird-ed out that I had to use so many tags to be honest LOL, but I REALLY REALLY don't wanna trigger anyone, so I'll rather over-tag it than deal with nasty comments. Well, you didn't disappoint me with your bigbang at all, I rather be OVER-warned than not warned at all. BUT YOU NEED SOME TIMESTAMPS, the boys were adorable and I need more of them! :) :) :)

No, you're not the only one. I often get bored with sex scenes unless they're exceptional in some way. I get so far and then I'm like: yeah yeah the rest is the usual put knob A in hole B. Moving on.

Bluntly said, I know, but I know people who this had happened to and its not a good feeling! :-)

I love GEN and I am totally going to read the hell out of your story and adore it like always! :D I like slash and all that, but a nice GEN story is nice for me because I find there's not a lot of people who can write porn well. I think people decide that's what will get them readers, but poorly written slash is sooo awful to read.

And yes, exactly! Like I said in one of my replies here, sometimes it seems like the sex is the center of the story that all roads lead to, and the story is just burned dough, something to scrape off to get to the center. And I came to the same conclusion you did; that people write the sex in becuse they think that will get them readers and they are (sadly) right! But I will not stoop to that level, I won't ""destroy"" a story with sex, just so that people will read it! :-)
