I really liked how you wrote this - not just the style (which was awesome) but also the near non-sentimentality of it. You didn't have the boys hugging or anything, just Dean letting Sam in and then grabbing the gun. Almost as if Dean knows Sam needs protecting. Which, it turns out, he did.
